My lovely Salomon hiking boots, with Gore-Tex covering went straight through the middle of those babies. My feet remained as dry as they were when I started and I didn't have to do that awkward puddle-missing dance. Just one straight line, functional and simple. Just how I like it.
As I emerged the other side I felt like...
It's a dance with high stakes. If you miss a step, particularly at the beginning of a long walk you'll end up doing the rest of the walk with potentially squelchy feet. And we all know how socks rub when they're wet.
As we left the second set of ankle deep mud, from behind I suddenly heard "Oh. Yeah walking boots....cause it might rain on the day".

Apparently though Si is going to walk with plastic bags around his feet. I promise to take photos.
It was a quiet one this week, just me and Simon. After the incident with the size-too-small boots from last week Tash is still nursing a toe like a balloon and a twisted ankle from a clump of grass that attacked her.
Amber was just slacking ofc ;) Nah, we went for a slightly shorter distance to work with Simon's knees - apparently even when you're built like a twig your knees can give you gip! I'd never have known, I always blamed my weight for the case of runners knee I had when I first started running!
So, the Salomon boots were great - super comfy, and the New Balance trail shoes Simon went for were apparently very good for dancing in :p
We managed to avoid being rained on directly, which I feel was one of our greater achievements - and we also have a list of people we intend to coerce into support team duties, since we're a person down after "email-gate".
Still, things progressing nicely. Just hoping at the moment that Tash's foot stops swelling. I think I'll be writing to the shop in question and asking whether they'd like to take part in the event in place of my sister. *hurumppph*
Other updates:
Fundraising seems to have taken a bit of a dive - sadly our Google Ad-Sense seems to be taking less and less revenue, so please peeps - remember every penny made from legitimate ad clicks around the site goes towards our fundraising!
Additionally we're part of the Amazon affiliate scheme, so if you see something you fancy on Amazon around here and click through on our ads to make a purchase, we do get a % of that - and it ALL goes in to the pot, so please don't be shy!!
Also, remember we run weekly challenges - come and get involved, they're a bit of fun and will help get you that little bit more active. New challenge will be posted tomorrow!! :)
I've already done my extra 10k for this week, so tonight will be a chillax ready for the coming week!
And that is me, over and out!! :) Keep clicking peeps :)
