Yeah. I hadn't until today either.
Today, well, yesterday actually, I decided to re-start the Turbofire programme. Now, just to get things clear - I'm not affiliated to Beachbody in any way, nor am I making any money off of this post (more fool me eh) but I have to say that in the early days, Turbofire shred me quicker than anything else I'd tried. I still go back for more, even though I'm three years down the line!
There are 4 weeks of the bodybuilding.com transformation challenge to go, so I'm bringing in the heavy weights. Literally :p Apologies for the lack of progress photos & info, I have had a pleasantly busy week with the #liftlikeagirl store and getting orders out :) I'm also planning on setting up a gallery for all of the amazing women I know who #liftlikeagirl and are proud of it!
I have some new hoodies coming in (super excited) AND an order of pink ink.....(I'm SUPER SUPER excited about the pink ink!!)
Well, least you don't have to put up with just my mug modelling the tops now :D Haha.
WARNING SHAMELESS PLUG: If you haven't already please DO come and "like" my new Facebook page @liftlikeagirlbrand. I'm also offering free p&p for anyone who shares my page and tags me (so I can see it!).
Anyway, moving on....
So, here I was, ready to get some fat shedding going on and the familiarity of the videos just took me back in time!
What really stunned me today was the flood of memories that came with re-starting the programme. All of a sudden I could spy those sweaty, uncertain, tenacious days three years ago...
I remember not being able to even do half of each section. I was too tired after 5 minutes to even keep up a consistent pace.
I'd have to walk the 60 second HIIT bits, because my heart rate was shooting through the 200's.
I couldn't do the sumo-squat to burpee back to jump.
I remember trying to squat and jump. Some days I could get off of the floor, but most of the time I'd just squat and lift onto my heels.
All of these things exist no longer. I realised it as I was cursing my glasses falling off of my nose as I jumped back into the burpee (and then, with eyes watering proceeded to do a set of jumping jacks). Further proof that burpees are evil I might add!
I REMEMBER. Feeling like I would never fit into this "fitness scene". I felt foolish because I'd never been to a "real" fitness class & had no idea what to expect. I remember EVERY SINGLE DAY. Even when I didn't want to, coming home from work and getting that workout in. I remember the scale moving, I remember getting fitter with each passing week. So I thought I'd take a tongue in cheek look at what we put ourselves through....
