You know, the ones with protein in....
I'm sure it can't be only myself I amuse, but if it is, I guess at least I'm entertained ;)
So, yeah, day 3. It's been a long 72 hours.
When Simon and I were talking about this last night he said "yeah, but it can't be that bad - have you REALLY had any undeniably strong cravings?". Not that bad. I'm ready to start licking pictures of cookies. Keep your cookie and cake pictures away people - I've already had to wipe my screen off with a baby wipe....
What REALLY gets me though, is the fizzy. You know, that bubbly, soothing feeling of sweet goodness that hits every marker of "bad really is that good"....that satiating feeling of full stomach and fizzy on the back of your tongue.....
*drools*
Ok. I'm not going to think about that anymore. I don't need drool in my keyboard along with the other crap that's lodged in there.
So. Yeah. There was cake at school today. Do you know what I did? I had a banana and some grapes.
I need a MEDAL people! Who is going to throw me a "commend Michelle for being so amazingly controlled for 30 minutes" party? Whoever it is.....can we PLEASE have a bouncy castle? Because Simon said he was getting me a bouncy castle for my birthday but he never did. He also told me he was getting me a pony. And putting it IN the bouncy castle. I should have known.
So, do you know what day it was yesterday? Ooooh, come on. Yes you do. You LIVE for this day.
It was POLE NIGHT!! Whhoooooo.
Monday night I got about 3 hours of sleep. Tuesday was long. I have to say, it was an interesting task to stay awake long enough to get to pole and I was zapped, but as you all know - the show MUST go on! Pole night cannot be denied. It is a force of nature.
When we to the poles Karen comes over immediately and with *that* glint in her eye tells me she's got something lined up specially for me. Uhoh.
Queue: ankle release. Oh wow. I've been wanting to try this for AGES but didn't think I'd be strong enough to hold it....I DID IT xD No pictures yet. I don't think taking pictures actually counts unless you *have* the move comfortably and there was NOTHING comfortable about what happened to me last night :p
I even managed to lose skin grip at one point and end up on the floor on my back. Of course all I got from Karen at that point was "come on, do a push-up". Hmpph.
I'd like to say that I didn't try one....but yeah, I did. It felt like Dave the cat (who has actually lose 0.4Ibs!) was sat on my chest or something, there was NO way I was sitting up from ankle release position :p
Just to give you an idea of what the move looks like....
But you get the picture. Sit-ups. Pfffft.
So, anyway. Once I'd torn most of the skin off of the inside of my thigh it was time to get to practicing other moves and getting pictures.
Are you ready? It's picture time!
Now whilst we were practicing this and that, Karen thought it was time for us to try a "pencil hold". We'd been shown this on one of our very first lessons and it seemed impossible at the time, but apparently we were ready, so it was time to try again.
I step up to the pole and climb up, put my hands in the right position aaaaaand......slip down the pole. Slowly and not elegantly. Three times.
Damn it was hot last night!
I leave the pole to go and get some grip lotion and when I turn back Tom (the git) had stolen the pole. Not only had he stolen the pole, but he went straight into the move and earned a "wow, that's perfect Tom" from Karen. Hmpph.
*grumbles*
This is what I turned back round to see...
He was obviously slacking for the rest of the lesson otherwise he'd have been sweating more....right? Well, either that or I have to face the fact I'm sweaty....
ok ok. I'm sweaty. It looked great though - he even managed to point his toes xD We MUST be getting more graceful....maybe not individually, but overall as a pair. That still counts right?
Not to be outdone, I kept trying (not to sweat) and eventually got really cross. Then I did it....
Of all of the moves we've done recently, this one means the most. Just for the comparison between what we used to do and what we are now. Amazing stuff!
Having done that, Tom and I got to working on some other strength stuff. My flag is happening now! Finally out straight xD
Tom's Iron-X is coming along nicely - he's been practicing for WEEKS, must be near on 12 now and he's moved from feet about an inch off of the ground to this....
Iron-X is one cool move. Last time I tried it it felt like my shoulders were being ripped out of their sockets. Apparently that's the right feeling 0_o
So all in all, even though the room was hotter than Hades we had a very productive session! The ankle release is something I really want to work on as it looks SO cool. We've also started conditioning for shoulder mounts....oh man, talk about feeling every muscle in your neck!
The next few weeks are super exciting, as we grow in strength we get to try out more and more, I love the progression available. Sometimes it's just a case of do something simple but new, or polishing off a move you did at the start. Some weeks it's new move onto new move. That's what I love about pole (one of the MANY things of course!!), there's ALWAYS something to feel good about :D
Knowing what it is that hooks you in is an amazing motivator, even when you're super tired and slightly cranky... so, what makes you feel good about your choice of workout?
