Surprise me. That's a saying people often live to regret...
Guess what day it is!!
You're right...it's Tuesday! :D
I'll be updating you on pole tomorrow (because you know you LIVE for my pole updates.....) when I have some photos to be showing you (hopefully). I'm writing this before pole you see. Which is unusual.
But today was kind of unusual.
I woke up rather unwillingly at 6:30am ready to go out for my morning swim. Today was Tuesday. In every sense of the word. The lull before the mid-week but the horror of Monday is fading from your mind.
I'm currently fighting the mid-term fatigue. It happens half way through every long term a teacher has. You start seeing it in your colleagues. Kids are tired too, so they're concentrating on behaving and doing what we want. Some have given up entirely ;) Teachers are desperately trying NOT TO SHOUT AT KIDS. Because we know they're tired. We're tired too but it's got to be done. If they'd just stop talking we could do it faster, but alas, that's not something you realise until you're standing in front of a group of people thinking that over.
In my attempts to be more awake I've upped the exercise anti. Morning swim, walk into work, run after work. Gym. Pole. ALL THE THINGS.
Swim gave nothing away this morning, everything went as it usually does...well, aside from the bit where I put my head under the water and breathed in. That's not such a great idea. When it was time to get up I closed my eyes really hard and squeezed them and tried to pretend that it wasn't actually 6:30am on a term-time Tuesday and that we were actually in the summer holidays. It didn't work. The usual suspects were at the swimming pool once I grumped up out of bed and met a grumpy Tom and a too chipper Barry ready to go swimming. We're now so familiar to the lady at the desk that she just waves us on in. Not entirely sure I'm ready for that, but I'll go with it :p
One thing that made me slightly less grumpy this morning was that the lovely lady from Vanaia sent me an email back saying she enjoyed the blog and it was one of the best she'd seen. That was a #puffedoutchest moment, lol. I've downloaded the Scanwritr app - it's actually very cool. It allows you to take a photo of a form and then fill the form fields in. Yes, I'm sure you could do that by taking a photo, emailing it to yourself, putting it into word, adding text boxes and then filling in the fields, but this is a 5 minute (or less jobby) which allows you to then convert to PDF and print or email. Sweet!
I still have some freebies left on that app (sadly I'm an Andriod user so I'm a bit shafted) but you can get a free copy of the pro version from yesterday's blog - "I'm no classy lady" (here's the link). I'd also like to point out it's a pretty gosh-darn good read :P I followed it up with today's lunchtime blog of #doitlikeagirl - check it out
Then, as if he'd sensed my grumpiness - I also got an email from PayPal from a friend donating £25.00 with the message "donation for something from Squidgey's shop....surprise me". Surprise me. That's a saying people often live to regret. But this dude is so going on my wall of fame. In first place. Hooz. You rock.
Having support from friends and family is such a huge thing for us. In the end we're doing it not because of any rational thing any more. We're doing it to not let you down. After 16 hours walking, at the point of physical exhaustion YOU make the difference.
The day passed pretty much as expected. Aside from the rogue fire alarm, the student who passed me going the wrong way out of school (which confused me) and talking CrossFit in the staff room. We're up Rosanna ;)
When I got home I did my ten minutes of stretching/yoga as per this weeks challenge - sign up if you haven't, it's a nice easy way to get a little more active! Details can be found here!!
Anyway, my sister (my middle sister who is actually the littlest of the three of us :p) Sarah asked what kind of things she can do for this challenge - so I made her this video. I decided to upload it because I like stretching, I think it's important and I think it's hard to know where to start if you haven't got a clue to begin with. So here's my introduction to stretching.
Time to eat a little something that I'll likely regret before poleing :P
Keep clicking peeps!! (we need the funds :p) :)
