I'm terrified to post this, as I have no idea how people will feel or react to this. What is clear in my mind though, is that this is an important message & an important cause. We are WOMAN. We are strong. We SURVIVE. Life changes us, we rise from the ashes again, and again waiting to fight the next battle and keep living strong. Recently I've had a lot of things to work through, but what has come back to me time and again is that, as I've said before, I want to FREE my #fitsisters to show their BRAVERY. To show their STRENGTH. To show that we ARE women and we're not ashamed of that. Across the world many women are fighting against demons that undermine their brave. They make them feel ashamed. Like they want to hide. Hopefully most of my #fitsisters and #fitbrothers will never have their lives ripped apart by experiencing abuse at the hands of another person. I have experienced women from many walks of life who have had this happen to them and have had no way of knowing how it will echo in their long term futures. I know what it means to rise from the ashes and try to make life again. As a cause that is close to my heart 25% of the profit from the sale of these shirts will go to http://www.rapecrisis.org.uk. Support your sisters and brothers and lets work towards a more unified world! Survivor shirt: £10 at http://www.trailsandtribulations.co.uk/store/c1/Featured_Products.html I started #liftlikeagirl on a bit of a whim. I decided I wanted to print a t-shirt design I had. I posted that design onto Facebook and a few people told me they wanted one. So I decided to see how far that could spread....
The purpose of this brand is in spreading a message: yes, we're women. We #liftlikeagirl, we #runlikeagirl and we #fightlikeagirl. Try to keep up. www.liftlikeagirl.co.uk For the week following IWD (9th-14th March) #liftlikeagirl will be donating 15% of any sales that come through the website to IWD.
Go on, treat yourself ;) http://www.trailsandtribulations.co.uk/store/c1/Featured_Products.html It would be super-duper awesome if you guys could swing on by past my business page Liftlikeagirl.
I created #liftlikeagirlbrand to voice the message that I'm sick of being told that #likeagirl is a bad thing. "You run like a girl", "you hit like a girl", "you swim like a girl". They're all thrown at people from a young age to INSULT. Why is being "like a girl" an insult? To me, being "like a girl" means that I've gotten back up every single time I've been knocked down by circumstance. To me it means I've survived some nasty times. To me it means it means I am STRONG. So, #fitsisters. Be #likeagirl and be #proud of your femininity. Show me your STRONG. Show me your BRAVE. Show me your TENACITY, because ladies, being "like a girl" isn't an insult. It's a compliment. I #liftlikeagirl and I'm proud. Are you? https://www.facebook.com/liftlikeagirlbrand?fref=ts |
About Me#liftlikeagirl is a fitness/workout/leisure set of t-shirts (and other clothing items to come!) that has one message: yep, we lift like girls and you know what? We're proud of it. ArchivesCategories |
