You know when you've been waiting for news... #sweatpink baby!
The #sweatpink ambassadors are asked to write about our "aha" moment, so I'll be writing that - will keep you guys posted :D Super exciting day!!
I was having a lay in this morning when the door bell went. I don't know if you react like I do, but it makes me jump. Then of course I had to leg it out of bed to let the guy in, whilst trying to find something to make me decent enough to answer the door in. It was a close call. The guy almost got a bit more than he was expecting. Still, got my protein nom-noms ;)
After that it was all go. I opened my emails on my phone to find the amazing news that I'd been accepted into the community at #sweatpink whilst at the same time realising that if I got ready I'd be on time for Yoga. Squirming with excitement I got ready to go (ensuring I was wearing at least a little pink ;)) and had my morning protein shake.
Then I realised if I took my bike I'd be even earlier, might get time to go to the loo before the class started too. So out of the cupboard comes the bike. Oh. Are the tyres ok? Yeah. They'll do. After spending about 5 minutes fixing my front wheel on (it comes off to store the bike) and lugging it down the stairs, I'm ready to go - but I've sort of made myself a little late. Nevermind, I'll make it on the bike. Get onto the bike and the tyres are beyond flat.
My neighbours must have thought I'd finally lost it when I locked my bike up outside just after appearing with it and walked off.
I was late. In fact, if I'd left without the bike I'd have been on time. Decision making needs some thinking through ;)
Anyway, yoga was amazing. It was my first "official" class, but I've been practicing for about 10 years now with DVDs/internet/friends so it was all fairly familiar. It was just very peaceful - definitely going to have to put that into my routine.
After yoga I "treated" (lol) myself to legs day. Oh. It hurts so good.
Got a PB lift for squats (70kg) since I injured my back, which I'm very pleased with. Although I did drop the barbell on myself. That was a bit embarrassing. Still, the weights area was blissfully quiet and I managed to just get through my routine with no hassle. I was knackered by the time I'd finished!
I only meant to stay half an hour, but you know how it goes. An hour and 15 minutes later I managed to waddle out of the gym, feeling like a BOSS. Lol.
Bending down earlier to look for my car documents (I've forgotten my tax again >.<) I could barely get up. Oooops. Still, had a very nice stretch when I got home.
As I've been doing this all week I'll do it here too - I've seen lots of forum posts about this, and had overheard and been involved in conversations about this. I recently had this conversation with hubs when he first joined the gym.
What do you take with you?
These are my TOP 5 things to take to the gym with you
And again, top tip: pack the night before :)
- Water bottle. For me this is top because I drink so much (water thank you) - easily between 3 and 5 litres in a day.
- Towel. It's gross when you sweat, our gym has paper towels for when you don't have one but not all gyms do this and it's nice to be able to wipe that snail-trail off when you move.
- HairBand. It hurts when you get your hair trapped under a barbell. Avoid it ;)
- Music Playing device. Some people don't have music on when they workout, I do. It helps me to have a pre-made kick-ass playlist that helps me get through those last-hard reps!! This isn't as essential when you have a gym buddy!
- Headphones. Yep. This makes the list - it's pretty essential if you want to actually listen to the music playing device....You might wonder at this addition but I can't tell you how many times I've left without them :P
Now, I'd add a membership card too (if you're really new) - but I'm at the point now I just get a "oh, you're back" and waved through. I entered the leisure centre today to check in for Yoga and automatically got handed a swimming band by the lady at the till as she's normally in when I go swimming in the morning. Apparently the yoga really threw her xD
After finishing my days exercise I also had some fun making new crafty things - I'll make sure they're up on our store page and on our Etsy store for purchase, but I've been using polymer clay, which is SO nice to work with!
This is what I've been up to xD
If you'd like any of these little dudes or would like me to make you something (yes Hooz, your order is being processed xD I just hope you'll like it.....surprise me. Pffft :p ) then send me an email :) Remember, free postage to UK addresses and all proceeds go to our fundraising!
Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to have a Magnum and watch some TV :D Well. Computer. Amazon Prime....
Happy Thursday and keep clicking :)
